John McGuirk – Artistic Director - 2009
Port Hope All-Canadian Jazz Festival

"June Garber performed the last Saturday afternoon set before a packed tent at the Port Hope
All-Canadian Jazz Festival. She brought some of the best players from Toronto, which was only
right, given June's own prodigious talent. The set received a well-deserved Standing O from a
jubilant crowd who had loved her singing, her personality and her 'Joie de vivre'. She is a
consummate professional."

June Garber gave the “Birth of the Blues” new meaning as she got down and dirty with a
powerful rendition. Full rich tones delivered in a soulful manner and hitting some high notes that
were truly impressive.

Like most showcases, the Real Divas performance was spotty.  Luckily, things quickly
improved; and while there were plenty of performances that were just okay… the performance
by June Garber (who evoked Eartha Kitt with her rendition of “Cry Me A River”) more than
made up for it.

Oh, to be a firefly on the wall...
by Laila Boulos -The Live Music Report
As the elegant June Garber took over the stage, her soothing vocals filled the crevices with the
eternally hopeful "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". This piece she stated was "....why we are all
here tonight".
Always an engaging performer, again, Ms. Garber`s heart and vocal chords worked in tandem
to turn the audience to mush with her feather boa version of "Black Coffee".

Colin Smith, CKLN Jazz FM 88.1

"June Garber IS the 1st Lady of Canadian Jazz"

The Live Music Report by - Joyce Corbett

"June Garber came out on stage, a Bold, Brash Presence!  "I'll start off cheery" she said with a
South African accent, "and I'll Depress you later."
Expertly, she smiled her way through a bouncy "I'm Beginning to See the Light" (light with a
clearly articulated final "T").  There was a Huge Crowd in front of the bandstand by now and the
grey heavy air threatened rain.  June Garber sat on a stool and started to sing "Black Coffee".
Sultry, more brooding than the sky, she took her time.  The Pacing, the Spacing and the
Intensity were DELICIOUS! "

Kerri King, Founder, Oshawa Jazz & Blues Festival

"Not only is June Garber an Incredibly Talented Entertainer, she is
an extraordinarily beautiful human being inside and out.  It has
been an absolute pleasure working with Ms. Garber at the Oshawa Jazz & Blues Festival over
the years!"

Geoff Chapman - National Jazz Award Winning Jazz Critic

"June has a potent voice brimming of character
and readily adaptable to any material.  She's clearly able to tackle tunes of infinate variety as she
does on her Debut CD - "smile"
