June was born in Johannesburg, South Africa.  Although she had chosen her Academy award
acceptance speech at age Five, her parents had better ideas...she would become a school teacher.
Being that she was always a terribly obedient child, June packed away her aspirations into a worn-
out suitcase, complete with moth-balls....and never opened that case until she came to Canada.

A whirlwind of activity ensued! Theatre, singing, touring, Film and Television.
June formed an 8 piece Group and Toured the U.S. And Canada.
She has performed in Theatre productions in most of the Major theatres in Canada.
In 2004, (after a 15 year hiatus) her desire to sing Jazz brought her back to the stage. The last 5
years have been wonderfully busy! June has had the privilege of performing with amazing Jazz
musicians and vocalists who have inspired her and helped create magical experiences for audiences
around the world. Whether playing with a Big Band at the Palais Royale in Toronto or The Mambo
Club in Cuba or with a fabulous pianist in an intimate Club in Australia.....June manages to connect
with her audience.

Main stage concerts @ Jazz festivals include: The Toronto Downtown Jazz festival
The Beaches Jazz festival, The Orangeville, Port Hope, Lakefield, Oshawa, Georgian, Markham,
Parry Sound and Partigras Festivals.

She has had the pleasure of performing in 2 Jazz 91.1 fm "Sound of Jazz” series & Joe Sealy “Duets”
recorded live in studio with an audience.  She has also did a Live to Air concert for 740 am.

Her Debut CD "Smile" received good reviews and Air play. Her Sophomore CD "Here's to you",
released in December 2008, was one of the Top 5 Jazz picks on CBC and was just named one of
the Top Twenty Jazz Albums for Canadian Airplay for 2009. When you watch June sing, you feel as
if she is singing directly to you.  Her warmth & unmitigated joy of being on stage envelopes you, pulls
you close and encircles you with her warmth!

Every song that she chooses to sing connects to a base truth within – so there is never any artifice –
only that which is true! Her voice reflects each emotional shift that the writer intended.  This is why
she sings some of the Most Complicated & Greatest Songs ever written:  Gershwin, Porter, Rogers
& Hart, Sondheim, and Kurt Weill.  Whether Growling Out “St. Louis Blues” or revelling in the pure
tone of “Here’s to Life” – her connection to each song is from her soul!
